Words such as gourmet and premium do not tell you whether a coffee will fit your taste. Use information you can act on instead.
Look for useful product information
- Roast position from lighter to darker
- Whole bean or ground options
- Bag size and price
- Clear shipping and recurring-order terms
- Customer reviews identified as customer opinions
Freshness matters, but slogans are not enough
Buy an amount you can use while it still smells and tastes lively. Store coffee closed, dry, and away from heat and direct light. A larger bag has a lower price per ounce at Wild Calf, but a smaller first bag can prevent waste when the coffee is new to you.
Judge the whole cup
Notice the first sip, how the coffee works with your usual milk or sweetener, and the finish after you swallow. A pleasant finish matters more than impressive tasting vocabulary.
Change one brewing variable
If the cup is not right, change grind, dose, water, or time one at a time. That makes it possible to learn what helped.
Compare Wild Calf's five blends. If you are still unsure, ask Coffee Concierge for a practical suggestion.
