Your Morning Coffee Is Boring. Change One Thing.

If the morning cup has become forgettable, change one thing. A controlled change is easier to learn from than a new coffee, grinder setting, ratio, and brewer all at once.

1. Clean the brewer

Old coffee residue can make a fresh bag taste stale or harsh. Clean the removable parts and follow the brewer maker's descaling instructions.

2. Measure consistently

Use the same scoop or, better, a scale. Consistency makes the next adjustment meaningful.

3. Change the grind

If the cup is thin or sharp, try a slightly finer grind. If the finish is dry or harsh, try a slightly coarser grind.

4. Move one step in roast

Wild Calf's core blends run from lightest to darkest: Morning Kick, Run Wild, Plains Drifter, Cattle Baron, and 5 Wire. Move one step rather than guessing across the whole lineup.

5. Match the cup you actually drink

Judge the coffee with your normal milk, cream, sweetener, ice, or brewing method. The useful question is not whether someone else approves. It is whether the cup works for you and leaves a finish you enjoy.
